Seagull Visits Earth Day at the Javits Center!
Today we took a Gull on a bamboo stick down to Earth Day at The Javits Center.
Much to our Surprise there were already Six Pack Sculptures there! Sustainable NYC decided to bring the Sea Turtle and the Coathanger Gull Prototype and show them at their booth.
We had a great time, Ate healthy energy bars and met all kinds of colorful folks. 2 or 3 potential shows emerged, an Earth Day afternoon well spent!

The Flock of Six Pack Seagulls has Moved Into Oslo!
The Flock of 9 Seagulls is hanging around Oslo on Roebling street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. There will be no official opening so just go on by and see it, have a cup of delish coffee and sign the guest book. 133 Roebling Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn
I hung the show with nothing on the walls and trained the lights to create shadows on the white walls, this adds a new dimension to the flock.

A FLOCK OF (six pack) SEAGULLS
The "Flock of Seagulls" is in the creation stage! I have created 5 new
Six Pack seagulls as well as a nest with eggs, these will be a part of
my installation, "A Flock of (sixpack) Seagulls" Hopefully to be finished and
installed by Earth Day. In order to create consistency and symmetry of
the animals, I built a "pegboard" to stretch the wire frame of the
birds.

Here are some iphone shots of the completed gulls.

And here is the nest with eggs, the frame is made from wire coat hangers:

For this gull, #6, I used wire coat hangers for the frame and fishing line instead of zip ties to attach the six pack rings.

I am hoping to get to hang them at the Javits Center, here are some rough renderings I have created:

Of course I would also like to put them in atrium's and lobbies around the city and world. Please contact me if you have any installation location ideas (or contacts) you would like to share!

I am also designing a workshop for schools, artist or eco groups where participants can create their own Gull (info below)
